KKCS Aged Care HCP

Support at Home (SAH)*

  • As a community organisation KKCS Aged Care Services is here to help you understand these programs and assist you along the way.

    Under a Support at Home package, you get to choose the services you receive and who provides them. If you choose KKCS Aged Care Services we can help you manage your Support at Home Package and deliver many of the services you may want to assist you to remain living at home within a Consumer Directed Care approach.

    We can assist you in the delivery of your supports to enable you to enjoy life your way and to help you do the things that you enjoy including maintaining your independence. Our focus is to provide quality supports and services which enables you to stay at home for as long as you want.

Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP)

Centre Based Respite

  • We are based at the Kurri Kurri Community Centre weekly on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 10am - 2pm.

    Both Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) and Home Care Package (HCP) consumers are welcome.

    If you are a CHSP consumer a referral code for Centre Based Respite is needed from My Aged Care. Please call them on 1800 200 422. If you are a HCP consumer, attendance can be paid through your package and we accept people who are with other providers as well.

    We offer a home cooked morning tea and lunch. Transport can be provided for consumers living in the local area for an additional small fee, if we have capacity.

To discuss your eligibility for these programs or for further information, please call My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 or visit myagedcare.gov.au.
They will assess you and, if you qualify you can NOMINATE the Kurri Kurri Community Aged Care Services (previously known as Hunter Community Services) to deliver your package or services.

*As of 1 November 2025, the Home Care Packages Program has been replaced with the Support at Home Program.

Additionally, the Australian Government introduced the Aged Care Bill 2024 to Parliament on 12 September 2024.

The new Aged Care Act will start from 1 November 2025. It will be the main law that sets out how the aged care system operates.  This plain language fact sheet available in 22 languages, gives a summary of each chapter of the Act. It also explains what the government is doing to support the changes now and in the future.
