UPDATES

Monday 9th March 2020

I am sure you are aware of the emerging issue of Novel coronavirus in Australia and the ongoing media reports about people in NSW and other states now being diagnosed with the virus. I would like to answer any questions you may have about Kurri Kurri Community Services  readiness to cope with the virus as we deliver supports and services to our clients and the overall community.

At Kurri Kurri Community Services, we have contingency plans in place to manage a variety of emergency situations including outbreak of infectious diseases. We are now implementing our plans now to try to prevent the spread of the virus in our community and our facilities, and contain it if and as needed.  We are following the advice from the health authorities and working with them to ensure we are as prepared as we can be.  Our focus is on ensuring the health and well being of our clients, staff and the general community.

We are also speaking with our clients and community members to help identify people who may be at risk due to recent travel or contact with a person with a confirmed case.To date we have not identified any clients or staff at direct risk as advised by the Department of Health.  Should we identify any staff, clients or community members at risk we will implement the guidelines from the Department of Health – including self-isolation,  medical treatment and notification of relevant parties.
